LET’S GET TOGETHER FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY!

Do you want to stand up and take action for human rights and climate justice?

Then join the European Changemaker Camp!

The three-day camp will be filled with participatory creative sessions, and together with around 300 friends and professionals from Europe we’ll share skills and know-how.

Through workshops and training sessions, you’ll learn how to defend human rights and the climate regardless of where the injustice is happening. When we act locally – we act globally.

The European Changemaker Camp will take place at a beautiful venue just outside Warsaw, Poland, the 28th – 30th of September 2018.

Come join us!

There is a changemaker inside everyone. Each of us has the power to make a positive change within our family, community, city or country. Even the smallest protest for a cause you care about can create a major change.

The three-day camp will be filled with participatory and innovative workshops and training sessions to inspire you and give you the tools you need to become a more active citizen in your community.

Some sessions will focus on communication, leadership and facilitation – you’ll get new ideas and learn practical skills on how to create positive change in your community. You will learn how to use social and traditional media to create engagement and learn requirements for successful protests, actions and other spectacular events that contribute to delivering change.

Other sessions will focus on peaceful activism and Civil Disobedience, climbing and kayaktivism. Participants in these sessions will learn technical skills and how to use these techniques to do peaceful protests. Last but not least there will be creative sessions where your imaginative, artistic ideas on how to do non-violent protests can be fully explored.

A right to a healthy environment is as basic as freedom of opinion and expression – fundamental rights of every human being.

Human rights and the climate are under threat. Democratic space is shrinking, and we are seeing an increase in violations of our common rights to speak up and protest injustice.

Active citizenship is crucial for democratic and inclusive societies. Democracy, human rights and a healthy environment are all interlinked. These universal values need to be defended, and it’s crucial that people from Europe come together to solve these challenges.

Join the camp in September and learn how to reclaim our democracy, stand up for human rights and act for climate justice.

This camp is an opportunity to learn new skills, and share knowledge and experiences with fellow Europeans who also want to be part of making a change. Together we will lay the foundation for a movement that takes a stand for the causes we believe in.

The camp and workshops will happen in a nice space near Warsaw, Poland. Food, accommodation and travel costs from bigger cities across Europe will be covered by the organisers. Expect extra travel time on climate-friendly transport to and from the venue.

We encourage people with different backgrounds and experiences to apply to the camp. We expect all participants to respect each other and the diversity in the camp and we have a zero tolerance policy for any kinds of harassment. Our European Changemakers Camp venue is prepared to warmly welcome people with disabilities.
